Our Story

Bouwen Architecture Ltd., formerly operating under the name Bouwen Architecture & Engineering Ltd., is a relatively young firm, entering its seventh year of practice. Our group was borne of an industry demand for a greater level of discipline in project management and the delivery of capital projects incorporating creative solutions married with strong project controls. Bouwen has successfully delivered notable capital projects in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

What is notable in our office, is that our staff contingent is 'experience heavy' by design.  We maintain strategic partnerships with several engineering and specialty consulting firms in order to custom tailor our services for each client group and project type. 

We believe that the key to delivery of a successful project is strong project management. It is the main factor that maintains control of design & technical quality, schedule, and of course, cost.

We are seasoned practitioners, working easily with institutions, communities, local authorities, contractors, suppliers, and builders. Our clients are part of our team, not separate from it. We are generous and attentive collaborators; we work well with others and hand-pick our teams to best serve specific projects - such as this one.

Jacqueline Jasinski MAA LEED AP

Jacqueline is a Registered Architect and Managing Partner with Bouwen, drawing on over 25 years of experience in the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects. She takes particular pride in her strong client relationships, collaborative leadership style, and ability to navigate challenges with grace. She places highest value on service, quality and efficiency, and excels in the coordination of teams delivering complex projects.

Mike De Beer CT(Arch) CSC

Mike is a Certified Architectural Technologist and Contract Administrator, with over 25 years of experience spanning all aspects of building design and construction; from production and management of architectural working drawings to contract administration. As Contract Administrator, Mike is an excellent coordinator, strong negotiator and skilled problem solver who consistently delivers win/win solutions for his clients. Mike is also an accomplished project manager with particular expertise in building envelope science and construction detailing.

Todd Willick B.Env.D

Todd has an undergraduate degree in architecture, and backs it up with considerable hands-on experience in construction. His attention to detail and craft have contributed greatly to Bouwen’s ability to create detailed scale models of our projects. In addition, Todd is technically fluent in graphic, design & detailing software, and supports the team robustly.
